What to do
We sit in the middle of three things people usually have to choose between: Italy's largest theme park, the beaches of the Riviera and one of the country's most extraordinary art cities. From here you can fit all three into the same holiday.
Mirabilandia is the largest theme park in Italy: over 40 attractions across a huge site, with record-breaking roller coasters, areas for younger children, shows and stunt performances. In the warmer months Mirabeach also opens, the water park with pools, slides and white sand beaches.
From our hotel it is two kilometres, a three-minute drive. That is the real advantage of sleeping here: you go in at opening time when the queues are short, come back to your room in the early afternoon when the sun is at its worst, and return rested for the evening shows.

The beaches of Lido di Classe and Lido di Savio are a few kilometres away: fine sand, shallow water and well-equipped beach clubs, the right kind of sea for anyone travelling with children. A little further north are Punta Marina and Marina di Ravenna, with more bars and more nightlife.

About ten kilometres away lies Ravenna, with eight UNESCO World Heritage monuments and the finest Byzantine mosaics in the world: the Basilica of San Vitale, the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia, Sant'Apollinare Nuovo, the Neonian Baptistery. Half a day and comfortable shoes are all you need. Dante's tomb is here too.

We are on the edge of the Po Delta Park: historic pine forests, lagoons, salt pans and one of the best birdwatching environments in Italy. The Pineta di Classe and the Cervia salt pans are easy day trips, by bike as well.

We do not run a restaurant, but the Romagna around us certainly does. Piadina, cappelletti, passatelli, Adriatic fish and Sangiovese: within a few kilometres you will find trattorias, piadina kiosks and fish restaurants. Ask us at reception and we will happily point you to the places we go ourselves.
